Here are just a couple of reasons why you should bring your business to Pitkin Avenue…
Pitkin Avenue is easily accessible by public transportation and borders such vibrant Brooklyn neighborhoods as Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, and Bushwick.
Prices per square foot are less expensive than comparable areas such as Fulton Street in Bed-Stuy, Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights, Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill, and Gateway Mall in East New York.
The city has invested 4 million dollars to enhance both Zion Triangle and Pitkin Plaza. In addition, we recently completed the construction of a community center — the Greg Jackson Center for Brownsville at 519 Rockaway Avenue.
Crime has dropped to its lowest in recorded history, Pitkin Avenue is now the safest corridor in the area to shop in, retailers have responded by keeping longer hours.

We are a business improvement district dedicated to celebrating and supporting local families. We host family-friendly events year-round and on all major family holidays. Events include: Holiday tree lighting, Pitkin Summer Plazas, Easter and Halloween Parades, and Mother’s Day Rose Giveaway. Through promotional endeavors, the BID strongly supports stores that cater to family needs.
And we’re always working to make it more so. Pitkin Avenue is a beautiful tree-lined commercial strip. In addition, we recently partnered with the Groundswell Community Mural Project to create 5 beautiful murals along Pitkin Avenue that celebrate the history and culture of Brownsville.
We are dedicated to making pedestrian-oriented improvements to our tree-lined avenue and have already installed bike lanes.
We have it all along the avenue.
