The Heritage House can be found on the upper floor of the Stone Avenue Public Library. The building in which the Heritage House is located was built by Andrew Carnegie. It was originally the Brownsville Children’s Library, the first library solely dedicated to children.
The Heritage House was founded by Brownsville’s Mother Rosetta Gaston, a prominent community activist. The House functions as a multicultural hub that focuses on culture, the arts, education, and history. The House hosts a wide range of exhibits that display local culture, art, and artifacts
