Trick-or-Streets

I am thrilled to invite the school community to our upcoming Pitkin Avenue Halloween Bash—a fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween sponsored by Council Member Darlene Mealy.

Event Details:

Date: Tuesday, October 31, 2024
Time: 3 PM - 6 PM
Location: Zion Triangle, 1501 Pitkin Avenue, Brooklyn, NY

What to Expect:

  • Car-free Trick-or-Treating: Explore the spooky streets and collect treats in a safe environment!

  • Photo-Ops, Treats, and Fun: Capture memories with fun photo opportunities and enjoy delightful treats!

  • Activities:

    • Stilt Walker (3 PM - 4:30 PM)

    • Face Painting & Balloon Twisting (3 PM - 5 PM)

    • Popcorn, Cotton Candy & Trick-or-Treating (3 PM - 6 PM)

    • Music/DJ (3 PM - 6 PM)

    • Grandma Zombie (3 PM - 6 PM)

    • Kuki Go with TAPE ART NYC (3 PM - 6 PM)

  • Bring Your Pup (we will have treats for them too), Scooter, or Skateboard: Fun for all ages and abilities—everyone's invited!

Costumes are encouraged but not necessary, and adults must accompany children.

Duration: 5pm - 7pm, wheels down by 5:15pm.  

 

Info: ALL BIKES ARE FREE! We will utilize the Citibike stations bicycles, everyone will receive a code to enter on their phone to ride for FREE! The ride route will vary every Wednesday! More details will be given before riding out. You will also have to sign a photo and liability form previous to riding out as well. 

What to bring: Please bring your own phone, helmet, and water bottle. You are more than welcome to bring your own Bike but it is not necessary.

Join the Pitkin Avenue BID, in partnership with the Urban Design Forum Residency’s ‘Public Space for Public Good’ team, for a Reuse and Repair event. Public Space for Public Good work connects businesses, residents, and policymakers with underutilized spaces to promote a circular waste system.

Recycle: Drop off your food scraps to make soil. Pick up a small soil.

Reclaim, Reuse & Repurpose: Bring clothes to swap or repair.

Revitalize: Bring your favorite sneakers to clean.

📢 Come join us this Saturday for our Ribbon Cutting to celebrate the new location of our NYC Grows Farmstand! 🌿 Expect government officials, fun activities, music, cooking demos, and delicious food tastings.

🎉 We will have special guests: Brooklyn Book Bodega and Street Lab, bringing free books and a refreshing water cooling feature.

💦 The plaza will have a cooling station feature, so be on the lookout to stay cool and comfortable. Join us and support local farmers and artisans while enjoying the festivities. We can't wait to see you there!

B Well Youth Mental Health Fair

We invite you to be a part of an extremely exciting and impactful mental health event on Saturday May 18th, 2024 from 11am - 2pm

In partnership with Brownsville Community Justice Center, Transformation Counseling Services, they collaborated with youth ages 16-24 for the past 12 weeks to train them to become Community Mental Health Advocates. This will be their first Mental Health Fair for the community of Brownsville Brooklyn.

Our youth want to expand the community's mental health knowledge, connection to resources and providers, and reduce mental health stigma.
